There’s no doubt that Tony Blair was always an amoral opportunist, but I think something snapped in him after the left protested so vehemently against the Iraq War. It’s like he said ‘If you won’t venerate me as a great statesman then screw you, I’ll make millions from despots who want to hear what I have to say”. And now Brexit gives him a chance to play the great statesman again, with similar results.
Blair, Major and Clegg. It’s a wonder that any of them can stand to be associated with the other two.
