    They still don’t acknowledge that it ever happened. The BBC currently has a piece about “the picture China forgot” – the “tank man” – but it wasn’t “forgotten”; it was suppressed. Because they know that, over time, it’ll start to be thought of like the Armenian genocide, or the Ukranian famine: a historical event that people who can’t let go of the distant past use to beat a country over the head with.

    But that wire shows the true horror.

    • In defence of BIG there wasn’t much they could have done by that point to prevent the handover, but it it’s a nice ‘what if’ scenario where the UK kept HK.
