Have the Greens become a little more sane and realistic, you may be wondering? Actually, you’re probably not wondering that. You know they’re lunatics, don’t you? And they are. In fact they’re worse than ever:
The Green Party have launched their general election campaign with a call for £100bn a year to be spent on tackling the climate “emergency”.
Co-leader Sian Berry said: “Some things are even bigger than Brexit. This must be the climate election. The future won’t get another chance.”
The party says it would fund the pledge by borrowing £91.2bn a year, with an extra £9bn from “tax changes”.
This is roughly twice as much as the UK’s entire annual defence budget.
You might wonder whether this is really a ploy to make their fellow leftists, the Labour party, who genuinely do have a chance at government, look relatively sane. Except that the Labour Party are just as bad, if not worse.
