    That sentence is an ugly brute…

    • Christ Theo, you had to pick on my most delicate flower of a sentence, didn’t you? She’s run off and shut herself into her room now, and won’t come out. In a whole novel full of ugly solecisms and crimes against language and brutish barbarisms, you had to pick on the one sentence that is virtually a daughter to me. She’ll still be there for me in twenty-five years time when the rest of you have run off with your latest VR brain capsule from Frankie Boyle’s son or Jonathan Ross’s great-niece.
