Population increases graph

Turns out the utterly useless ONS have no population data for England and Wales before 1971, not even estimates. Unbelievable. The enormous of rubbish they have on their site, yet not even the most basic population data.

I will have to find some alternative sources of information, and make some careful estimates.

Update: This is despite the UK having run censuses since 1801.

  1. Baffling. If you want England and Wales you don’t even need to fret about the ambiguity of Monmouthshire. Just get the census numbers and add ’em together.

Are all government employees poltroons? Or just nearly all?
