To be fair to Dominic Raab, I think he took the job as Brexit Secretary for the purpose of (probably) eventually resigning. He knew he’d be sidelined, but he also knew that if the Leavers let a Remainer take the job, there would be no resignations if a bad deal was concluded.

After outwitting everyone for over a year May has now badly misjudged her hand. If she’d presented something halfway awful, instead of so totally awful, she may have got it through Parliament.
