Subscription pricing lowered

Posted on Wednesday 13th January 2021Thursday 14th January 2021

I’ve changed the cost per month of a Hector Drummond subscription: the new charge is a measly £2 a month (GBP) at Patreon, or the slightly cheaper price of $2.50 (USD) at SubscribeStar. Less than the cost of a half-pint in a pub, and you can’t even buy those any more. I’d rather have more […]

Hector escaped the glue factory but has been forced back to the farm to work

Posted on Wednesday 6th January 2021Thursday 7th January 2021

It didn’t take long from me departing the scene for everything to go to shit, so I’ve decided that duty requires me to return to the front line. It won’t be the same as before, because that was becoming less and less effective, required enormous effort, and wasn’t working financially, so I’m going to change […]

John Church’s Lancet paper

Posted on Thursday 31st December 2020Wednesday 6th January 2021

One of the regular contributors on this site in 2020, John Church, has had an academic paper on Covid-19 that he wrote with Prof Raj Bhopal of Edinburgh University accepted by the Lancet. Well done John. The paper can be found at https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3745174.

Hector Drummond has joined Boxer at the glue factory

Posted on Friday 13th November 2020Tuesday 17th November 2020

I’ve now finally accepted, with a very heavy heart, that Hector Drummond is just not viable, and as someone who is not independently wealthy (independently broke is more like it) I can’t justify spending any more of my life on it (both the fiction and the blog). The blog numbers are steadily dwindling after a […]

Burnout, and the social media time sink

Posted on Sunday 8th November 2020Sunday 8th November 2020

I’m not sure how long I can keep this blogging and Tweeting going for, I’m spending all my time on Covid and politics and there’s only so long that you can spend all day every day until 4 in the morning and neglecting everything else in your life when you’re not being paid for it. […]

Support me

Why would you give any money to a charity in 2020? They've all gone woke, and now spend their money on clipboard-wielding harridans who go around searching cupboards looking for non-compliant coffee mugs. Support me instead by sending a bit of money my way via Patreon, or SubscribeStar, or buy me a coffee via Ko-Fi.

Social media

My main social media account is at Gab, although I'm doing a lot less social media now. (My Twitter is now used only for updates about my activities.)
